How You Can Help

Support Independent Journalism

I am running this website myself, in hopes that I can create and monetize content as an independent journalist.

As media is increasingly digital, mainstream outlets are increasingly focused on broad topics relevant to a mass audience because they need to maximize ad and subscription revenue to cover high overhead. Meanwhile, many niche and local publications (and their staff) have lost financial support and disappeared from the industry, leaving many topics uncovered.

My belief is people want quality, relevant content, more than ever. If individual journalists can be empowered to create their own content, using social media platforms and other technology tools, perhaps we can fill the void.

If you want to help, here are a few ways (and they don’t have to cost you a penny!):

*Affiliate links are common commission-based programs available through most e-commerce providers. Content creators can generate special links to products they mention, without restriction on what they say about those products. If you click on them and choose to purchase the item, a tiny portion of your purchase will go to the creator who posted the link at no additional cost to you.

Because good journalism is ethical and transparent, posts about products and companies will not include affiliate links to those specific products or companies. I will instead post clearly marked, general affiliate links throughout the site for readers who choose to use them as a form of support.
