Lawmakers in Utah, where teachers there are not allowed to advocate use of contraceptives, premarital sex or homosexuality, have rejected a bill proposing to let parents opt for better sex ed.
This is one of the latest blows to efforts to get better sex education into American schools. Teachers in the state are currently only allowed to promote abstinence sex education, even though data has shown that omitting important information about safe sex leads to higher rates of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
One porn site decided to speak out against this, by calling Utah out. People who go to xHamster from Utah will now get a pop-up that says Utahs consumer the most porn per capita of any U.S. state. Then it gives an option to view a website with PG-13 sex ed videos, or to content to the porn.

Makes sense, since kids in general these days get more exposure to sex information from porn than they do anywhere else. But that’s a topic for another day.
Meanwhile Pornhub, which gets 87.8 billion video views a year, has also launched a sex ed website called the Pornhub Sexual Wellness Center. Critics say the information has its flaws, but hey: some information is better than none.
